Reference Section

Books which are not usually read from cover to cover are kept here.

The relevant section is read when facts are needed to be confirmed or learned. Books in this section are only for reference and will not be lent out.

We have a good collection of books which includes both national and international laws, encyclopedias, dictionaries and law literature.

Stack Section

This is a place where a wide variety of law books and law literature are kept for borrowing.

Periodical Section

A place where the needed information could be found in journals, magazines, newspapers and other serial literature. Here readers have access to a wide range of magazines, newspapers and topics of relevant interest. Back volumes are also available either in print or in digital format. Collection in this section is for inside use only. Photocopy materials may be availed on request.

Circulation Section

Main service point of this library is the circulation desk or loans desk found near the entrance of the library. It provides lending services and facilities for the return of loaned items. Renewal of materials and payment of fines are also handled at the circulation desk.

New arrivals display

New books will be displayed near the circulation desk for a period of three weeks.

Reading Section

The reading room is the sanctuary of the library where a reader is constantly interacting with books, the source of knowledge. God is the source of all knowledge which means the reading room is a place where a reader is constantly in touch with God. Therefore the readers are expected to keep ‘temple discipline’ inside the reading room.

All readers have a responsibility for the care of the books. The main cause of damage that a book sustains is through poor handling. A culture of good handling will ensure continued access to books and help to preserve them for future generations of users.

Reading room requirements;

  • Do not mark on materials or erase existing marks.
  • Do not use pen, pencil, high lighters on materials.
  • Do not tear or cut documents.
  • Do not make tracing or rubbings.
  • All the books taken from the shelves have to be re-shelved when the reader leaves the reading room.
  • There are spaces with power sockets available for laptop users.
